The first winner of Power Toto 6/55 jackpot of RM9.49 million was won by a homemaker from Sabah on 30 December 2009. It was a bountiful New Year gift for her.

The winner, a homemaker in her 50s, found out her winning from the draw results published in a daily while on holiday. Disbelieving her own eye, she immediately woke her spouse up from his slumber to verify.

"I was numb with shock and elation", she quipped when asked about her feeling the instant she got her winning confirmed.

On how she derived her winning numbers 5, 11, 18, 23, 31 and 51, she said she just felt good about the numbers and wagered on them for several draws, that was it!

Picked her lucky numbers from anywhere

She added that she just likes to pluck her lucky numbers from anything, anywhere as long as she feels good about them at the particular moment.

She actually played System 8 to increase her winning chances. System 8 has allowed her to choose 8 numbers from 1 to 55 to create 28 combinations of 6 numbers each. On top of the jackpot winning, she also won extra RM3,300 (2nd prize), RM40 (3rd prize) and RM3 (4th prize) from playing System 8.

On receiving the big fat cheque at Sports Toto head office, she said she had not thought of any big plans for her huge fortune yet as she was still too elated to think clearly, but she assuredly said that life would never be the same anymore.

The winning was barely two months after the brand new Power Toto 6/55 jackpot game was launched on 29 October 2009.

A Sports Toto spokesperson confirmed that only one ticket bearing the numbers 5, 11, 18, 23, 31 and 51 was drawn as the first prize of Power Toto 6/55 on 30 December 2009, Wednesday (Draw no. 3082/09) for a total winning sum of RM9.49 million.

RM5.25 million Mega jackpot unclaimed

The last Mega Toto 6/55 jackpot of RM5.25 million was struck on 21 November 2009, Saturday (Draw no. 3263/09). That particular winning ticket bearing numbers 9, 11, 19, 29, 33 and 43 was sold in Sabah. Until now, the mega winning has not yet been claimed.

Under the provision of the Pool Betting Act, prize money is valid for claim only within 6 months from the draw date, after which, it will be handed over to the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia.
